【What is the U.S.-Japan Council Governors’ Meeting?】

With the goal of bringing U.S.-Japanese relations to a regional level, the U.S.-Japan Council Governors’ Meeting is organized by the U.S.-Japan Council and chaired by Dr. Daniel Okimoto, Ph.D, Professor Emeritus at Stanford University, CA. The U.S.-Japan Council was founded in 2009 to strengthen the influence of Japanese-American business leaders in U.S.-Japanese relations. Governors from Japan’s six prefectures -- Fukuoka, Hiroshima, Oita, Okayama, Saga and Shizuoka -- attended the meeting.
